Get your own liquid CO₂ tank
Reduce costs – significantly!
As the number of refilled cylinders increases, whether standard ones or SODA-type cartridges, the question arises: Can this be done more cheaply?
A great way to reduce filling costs is to have your own liquid CO₂ tank.
What determines the purchase decision and why Is it mainly about money?
Buying CO₂ in Bulk – Pay Three Times Less!
When purchasing CO₂ in bulk, you pay up to three times less.
The price of 1 kg of CO₂ in a standard cylinder is approximately 2.40 PLN, while the same gas, refilled from a tanker into a storage tank, costs only 0.68 PLN (as of January 2025).
And that’s not all!
Deliveries
If you refill standard cylinders, do you have to transport them to a refilling station?
Yes – and it takes time.
If you have CO₂ cylinders delivered to your company, you also pay extra for delivery.
With your own CO₂ storage tank, you eliminate these additional costs.
Faster Refilling
Do you refill SODA cartridges or standard cylinders yourself?
With a CO₂ storage tank, there’s no need for constant cylinder replacements.
Moreover, filling from a storage tank is generally much faster than refilling from individual cylinders.
Significantly Reduced Losses
When extracting CO₂ from a standard cylinder, it is never fully emptied.
For example, from a 30 kg CO₂ cylinder, you can typically recover only 22-24 kg, depending on external conditions. The remaining gas in the cylinder is simply lost.
With a liquid CO₂ storage tank, this problem doesn’t exist, and losses are usually just a few percent.
New Customers
Having access to CO₂ at a better price, you can become a supplier for other businesses, including:
- Technical gas wholesalers
- Fire equipment services (CO₂ is used to refill fire extinguishers)
- Companies serving the hospitality industry
- Welding service providers
New or Used CO₂ Tank?
We offer both new and used CO₂ tanks.
Our used tanks undergo a full service, including inspection of insulation, piping, refrigeration, and electrical systems. Each tank comes with complete documentation and a valid UDT inspection certificate.
Most of our customers choose to buy refurbished tanks, as they are significantly cheaper while maintaining the same technical standards as new ones.
At our company, we have been using an 8-ton CO₂ tank since 2013, which was purchased as a used unit. It has been working flawlessly ever since.
Space Requirements
The standard dimensions of an 8-ton CO₂ tank are 6.5 x 2.5 meters, meaning it does not require much space for installation.
For comparison, its size is similar to that of a delivery van parked in a lot.
Maintenance Costs
The maintenance costs of a CO₂ storage tank consist of:
- Electricity for the condensation system
- External inspections by UDT
- Internal inspection required every 10 years
The total cost depends on factors such as tank type, size, insulation, and weather conditions.
For example, the tank we use incurs a monthly cost of 80-100 EUR, which already includes the expensive internal inspection performed every 10 years.
This is a small expense compared to the significant savings achieved by purchasing CO₂ in bulk.
Liquid CO₂ Suppliers
The CO₂ storage tank is refilled with liquid CO₂ from truck tankers, similar to those used for fuel deliveries to gas stations.
When purchasing a CO₂ storage tank from us, you will receive direct contacts for these companies, including key personnel handling CO₂ distribution.
The only thing left is to choose the most favorable offer for your needs.
Regulations
Liquid CO₂ is not propane gas. Unlike LPG, carbon dioxide is not explosive, which means it does not require compliance with the same strict regulations as LPG installations.
However, some CO₂ tanks must be placed on a foundation. The construction of this foundation must be reported to the relevant local authority, typically the county office (starostwo powiatowe) or city hall (urząd miasta).
After installing the tank, it must be registered with the Office of Technical Inspection (UDT). Once an inspector visits and approves the installation, you will receive official authorization for use.
Be sure to check the regulations in your country before purchasing a tank.
Configuration depending on your needs
With your own CO₂ storage tank, you can connect various filling devices to suit your needs.
The most commonly installed systems include:
- Tank + CFA 5 filling machine for refilling cylinders.
With the CFA 5 filling machine, you can refill standard cylinders with capacities ranging from 1 to 37.5 kg. |
2. Tank + CFA 5 filling machine for cylinders + CFA Soda 1 filling machine for SODA cartridges
If you also refill SODA-type cartridges, they can be refilled from previously filled cylinders using the CFA Soda 1 filling machine. |
3. Tank + CTA 640 circulation pump + CFA Soda 1 filling machine for SODA cartridges
If your main business is refilling SODA cartridges, a CTA-640 circulation pump is installed between the CFA Soda 1 filling machine and the tank, allowing direct refilling of SODA cartridges from the storage tank. |
4. Tank + CTA 640 circulation pump + multiple CFA Soda 1 filling machines for SODA cartridges
With the CTA-640 circulation pump, multiple CO₂ filling machines can be connected to a single storage tank. |
5. Tank + CFA 5 filling machine for cylinders and CTA 640 circulation pump + CFA Soda 1 filling machine for SODA cartridges
A configuration that allows direct refilling from the storage tank for both cylinders and SODA cartridges. With the CFA 5 filling machine, standard cylinders with capacities from 1 to 37.5 kg can be refilled. Additionally, the CTA 640 circulation pump combined with the CFA Soda 1 filling machine enables direct refilling of SODA cartridges from the tank. In this setup, there is no need to first fill cylinders and then extract CO₂ from them to refill SODA cartridges, as required in option 2. |
